Jennifer Armintrout has been obsessed with vampires since age four, and her first crush was on Vincent Price. Raised in an enormous, Roman Catholic family, Jennifer attributes her interest in the macabre to viewing too many funerals at a formative age. She graduated from Hackett Catholic Central Highschool in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1998. When college proved not to be her scene, Jennifer tried her hand at numerous careers from fast food to morgue work before writing her first novel, Blood Ties, a June 2006 release from Mira Books.
When not writing, Jennifer enjoys playing the acoustic guitar or spending quality time with a PlayStation game. She lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan with her husband and young son.
