Sandra Byrd was born in Minnesota, and spent many of her growing-up years in Arizona. She always dreamed of being a writer, and now enjoys writing full-time. Before she began her career as an author, she was an acquisitions editor for a publishing firm in Arizona, and she earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Denver.
Sandra has a heart for 8 to 12-year-old girls. She didn't become a Christian until she turned 19, and wondered how her life could have been different if she had known Christ when she was in middle school. Now she strongly desires to help girls in that age group find Jesus and develop a deeper relationship with Him. Both of her fiction series, Secret Sisters and The Hidden Diary, address many issues that young girls face, especially in the areas of friendship and family relationships. In her non-fiction series, Girls Like You, she answers many questions that girls have but are often too shy to ask the adults around them. Sandra tries to address the concerns that girls face everyday, and welcomes questions and comments from her readers. Sandra is also the author of Heartbeats: Encouraging Words for New Moms, and The Inside-Out Beauty Book.
Sandra and her family live in Seattle, Washington.
