For Christine Michels there is nothing more fascinating than the endless potential presented by a star-studded sky. Little more enthralling than a gripping mystery or suspenseful intrigue. And, nothing more heart-warming than the triumphant conclusion to a turbulent fairy-tale romance. With those compelling interests, what career could possibly be more suitable than that of a writer of romantic suspense or futuristic and historical romance?
When she initially began writing with a career in mind, she teamed up with friend, Bernice Carstensen -- who later wrote as Bernadette Carr -- to write a futuristic romance entitled To Share A Sunset under the pseudonym Sharice Kendyl. It was picked up by Dorchester Publishing and published by Leisure Books in October of 1990.
The partnership dissolved when Christine's friend moved to another city and Christine began her solo career. She has since written a number of additional futuristic romance novels. Her first romantic suspense novel, Danger's Kiss, won the "Heart of Romance" award as the best Single Title Contemporary of 1994. And, her first foray into the historical realm, Beyond Betrayal, was released in June 1998. She has since begun writing contemporary suspense novels for Silhouette Books, and her first Intimate Moments, A Season of Miracles, was a December 1998 release.
Christine has spoken at regional workshops and conferences, at local schools, and has been a featured guest speaker at gatherings of special interest groups. She resides near Medicine Hat, Alberta in Canada with her husband of thirty-two years and a small menagerie of pets.
