Review for Present, The

Reviewer Comments: this is one of about 6 in the Malory series. This is a story about how the Malory ancestor's (grandparents to the 4 Malory brothers) met. Anastasia was a gypsy and Christopher was from the 1st class--but a jerk he was until he met her and even though he wanted her as a mistress, when she refused him, she left town, only for Christopher to follow her and ask her to marry him. A couple of days without her and he realized that even before her, the "what I was lacking in life" was a life of love. Well, they sired one son who then sired the 4 Malory brothers JL fans adore.

There isn't a lot of sex scenes in here. But what finally happens here is that as a result of Christopher and Anastasia writing how they wrote and the fact that a commoner married a marquis...well that was what helped Jason who loved Molly for 30 years to have her finally agree to marry him. And Derek--Jason's only son--finally has both birth parents together--legally.

There is some historical content in here, but I wouldn't mind if Johanna added more to this story. It was too short for a Malory one! Otherwise, I'd recommend this book to anyone who wants to have a good laugh and cry at the 2 happy endings here.
