Born in Scotland in 1936, Marion Chesney (Ann Fairfax) is a prolific writer of historical romances and small village mysteries. She began her writing career as a fiction buyer for a Glasgow bookstore. She also worked as a theater critic, newspaper reporter, and editor.
She writes under many different names, most notably as M.C. Beaton for her Hamish Macbeth and Agatha Raisin series. She also writes under the names Sarah Chester, Helen Crampton, Ann Fairfax, Jennie Tremaine, and Charlotte Ward.
She lived for a time in the United States, but she now splits her time between Cotswald, England and Paris.
Using the pseudonym, Ann Fairfax, under the Jove publishing line, with Historical/Regency settings.
