for Abduction of Julia, The
Date of Review: 07/07/06
From the very first page, The Abduction of Julia drew me into the story of Alec and Julia. Alec has to marry and live scandal-free for a year. Easy enough, right?
Alec McLean, Viscount Hunterson, must marry the Earl of Covington’s daughter by midnight. Mistakenly, he abducts Julia instead of his intended. Dubbed the “Frant Dragon” by her peers and family, Julia is not what Alec believed, but now that he has kidnapped her, they must marry with all haste.
At first Julia is outraged to have been kidnapped by Alec, but she comes to realize that their marrying could greatly benefit her charity work. The fun really begins when Julia asks Alec for half of his inheritance to devote to her charities.
Delightful dialogue, steamy love scenes and a wonderful cast of characters combine to make The Abduction of Julia a fun and fast read. The witty interchange between Alec and Julia make them the memorable couple they are. Julia is a delightful reformer, while Alec is charming and roguish; a hero to die for. The Abduction of Julia is a memorable and endearing romp through Regency England.
I loved it! I stayed up late into the night to finish the book, and yet didn’t want the story to end. Bravo!
