Reviewer Comments:

Taylor Donovan is a no nonsense lawyer brought to Los Angeles to finish a particular case. Her boss requests she works with Jason Andrews, THE hottest star in Hollywood. Jason does not create a good first impression when he fails to turn up to an appointment to learn more about being a lawyer for a new movie role. When Taylor decides she is finished with him, Jason creates trouble with her boss to ensure her compliance. Taylor tries hard not to be dragged into the Hollywood lifestyle but at the same time is secretly pleased she sees it from the inside. Of course Taylor is trying to get over the betrayal of her fiancé in Chicago which adds to her suspicions about Jason’s motives.

Into this mix is Scott Casey an up and coming Hollywood star, who also happens to be Australian, spoilt and with an over inflated sense of his own importance. The competition is tough between Scott and Jason and their conduct is what will eventually win Taylor’s heart. The many secondary characters support the main two well and enjoy the inteaction between Taylor and Jason.

This is the debut book by author Julie James. I found as I read this I carried a smile of enjoyment at the tension and repartee between Taylor and Jason and wondered how this pair might resolve their differences to be together in the end. The story moved well and it was a great read. The section of the plot where Taylor becomes the Mystery Woman seems to capture the essence of our curiosity about the unknown and what we think the Hollywood lifestyle is all about.
