The fight between good and evil has never been so sexy! Kimberly Dean manages to pull us into a world of corruption, superheroes and steaming hot villains in a very few pages in this novella. Every page counts and nothing is wasted.
Luna Masters has another name. She is known as Luminescence, a crime fighter who uses the power of the moon to shed light on crime. Luna works by day as a court reporter and uses the knowledge she gains in the court room to hunt down criminals. She enjoys her work and thinks nothing of the dangerous things she faces until one night. On that particular night, she is overwhelmed by a villain and awakens naked and tied to his bed. What happens next changes her forever.
Scythe is named for the wickedly long blade that he carries. He is on the side of the criminals and at times seems to be protecting those that Luna is after. She is appalled when she realizes that he knows who she is while she knows nothing about him (except that he is outrageously sexy).
The story wasn’t very long so I don’t want to give too much away, but suffice it to say, this is a very steamy story. There are at least two graphic sexual encounters in the few short pages and the encounters are built into the heart of the story. These two characters would not have gotten to know each other without the sex.
I also appreciated the fact that there is a crime to solve and a relationship to build in this story. Scythe and Luna have to figure out what type of relationship they are going to have since they are both on opposite sides of the law. Can they make it more meaningful than just sex? Can they work together to make the city safer? Or will their encounters just be few and fleeting? Wanting to know will keep you reading.
