Once again, Ms. Haynes delivers erotic romances that will heat up even the coldest nights. In her latest book, an anthology, Ms. Haynes gives us three stories about women who work for Courtesans, a match-making service that matches men and women with similar fantasies. All sexual activity and “gifts” in appreciation of that activity are at the discretion of the men and women involved.
The first story, “The Girlfriend Experience”, stars Marianna Whitney, a thirty-five year old real estate agent, who is looking for a way to make some extra money especially since her wealthy father says he will no longer loan her any. She hears about Courtesans from a friend who already works for the service. Marianna isn’t sure about it, but the money seems wonderful and she would like to explore her sexuality. Joining her in this story is Chase Ramirez, a widower and CEO of a company. He turns to Courtesans to get his best friend off his back and to begin dating again. He never expected to find a woman who makes him feel alive.
In the second story, “Payback”, Dominique Lowe joins Courtesans after her divorce to prove that she is still desirable and to get “payback” for her husband’s affair with a much younger woman. She loves how having sex with men who want her makes her feel. She loves the power of being able to say no until she meets the one man who challenges her power. Gabriel Price knows what he wants and he won’t rest until Dominique gives him everything she has. They enter into a game of sexual one-upmanship.
The final story, “Triple Play”, features Noelle St. James, a three time divorcee. Noelle joined Courtesans because she was looking for more adventurous sex without having to deal with the jealously of a husband. She gets bored easily and having multiple partners with multiple desires keeps her interested. When she meets Dax Deacon, she finds a man who will fulfill all of her fantasies and is just as kinky as she is. Noelle and Dax each find a partner who doesn’t judge.
The thing I most enjoyed about this book was the different experiences each woman brought to her story. Marianna is just starting out as a courtesan. She is unsure and needs the money. Her inexperience shows as does her desire to find more than a series of one-night stands. Then there is Dominique who needs to feel desirable and finds a way to satisfy this need. Noelle makes no excuse for loving sex and for finding a way to have the kind of sex she enjoys without regret. Each woman brings a different quality to the job. I think most women can relate to one of these characters.
The book sizzles from every page. Behind the sexual situations are real women and real stories. There are definite plots to each of these stories that are enhanced by the erotic scenes. If you like your books hot, this is one to read!
