Joan Van Nuys was a symphony violinist for many years until she discovered writing. Her husband of 45 years was a part of every hero she ever created. She lost him to cancer in 1994, but he lives on in three daughters, four granddaughters, her memories, and in the books she writes. Joan lives with three demanding but wonderful cats in the old rambling ivy-covered house in western Pennsylvania where her children were raised. She enjoys gardening, reading mysteries, traveling (especially to Norway where her oldest daughter lives), and keeping in touch with friends, family and fans
