Joan Avery was an award-winning writer/producer at a major national advertising agency for over fifteen years before she retired to raise a family and write. Although she has lived in the Detroit area her entire life, she has traveled extensively. A recent trip to Ireland and extensive travel in the American West gave birth to The Wild Irish West, her second novel. She currently lives in Farmington Hills, Michigan, with her husband, an attorney. She has been blessed with a daughter, two sons, two grown stepsons and three grandchildren.
